Oslo Cathedral School is the oldest school in Norway, with its origins in the 1100’s. Today the school is situated in Ullevålsveien 31 in Oslo, built in 1902. The school has undergone significant upgrades in recent years. FabLab Design has been involved in the creation of the new assembly hall, a new cafeteria, the renovation of the staff room, the principal’s office, the main hallway, the old library, a new library, student toilets and common meeting rooms. The school now has a modern reading room with tables that can be combined in many variations. The reading room has been a success with students and staff from day one, with a colour palette that is matched to the library, with signature touches of red and orange. A large and beautiful maple tree has earned its place in the reading room to provide a backdrop for individual study and reflection.
