Overlooking the district of Skøyen, FabLab designed a bright and beautiful apartment. The view from the penthouse is almost 360 degrees. FabLab was involved from the beginning of the renovation, so took responsibility for the coordination of refurbishment, trades and craftsmen, materials and colour choices. We were able to approach the apartment as a whole, and not simply room by room, creating a better sense of harmony throughout the interior. Some walls were moved, so we were able to create a more optimal floor plan. A new kitchen and bathroom were built from scratch. Some walls were stripped back to exposed concrete making a rustic contrast to the modern kitchen. The kitchen design was functional making the most of the space available. A small sofa snug in the kitchen could also be accommodated with a folding worktop which when folded away allowed for larger armrests.
