Gerry Summers has a long career as a well-known jeweller and jewellery designer. He transforms diamonds and precious stones into miniature works of art you dream of owning. Now Mr Summers has opened his first branded store in London, and selected Fablab Design to create the interior design concept. The sales area is a compact and intimate consultation space. The jewellery designer maintains a workbench just behind the main shop area. The contrasting functions of the two areas are emphasised in the design; display items in cabinets and the working area where these beautiful artisan pieces are made. Small jewellery pieces are shown at their best in display cases or through the main windows, but safety and security are also a concern. We worked with our local craftsman in London to create the bespoke interior. A table with drawers and a top plate in clear glass was the showroom centerpiece, with interior LED lighting inside the cabinet, creating a natural talking point for customers. Purple & fuchsia pink are part of the Gerry Summers brand identity. The table was finished in lacquered purple gloss with drawers lined in soft pink velvet. To contrast with these strong attention-grabbers, the rest of the decor is toned down. Warm gray walls and ceilings, with chrome and glass.
