These areas signal what the organisation stands for, and design solutions should be seen as an important part of the corporate brand and culture. FabLab Design has designed several receptions, entrance areas and lobby interiors for different kinds of organisations.
Auditorium and meeting areas
Acoustics, lighting design, hi-tech
An auditorium should create excitement and anticipation for events and meetings, with a sense of theater. Our ambition was to create a warmth which surrounds the audience, who can relax, sit back and be inspired. The meeting room required a different concept. Since this is a space where employees play an active role, the room needs to be more functional. Ergonomic high quality seating is important for long meetings or working sessions. Office technology must also be up to date, enabling video conferencing with other departments in different countries. The interior design of the auditorium and large meeting rooms is an important part of branding, but ensuring that all rooms and spaces are fully usable is crucial. Acoustic design, good ventilation and fully adjustable lighting were key elements in our design solution.
Canteen and common areas
Food tastes better when the surroundings are inviting.
The places where employees meet are social spaces which become an important part of a company´s work environment and culture. FabLab Design uses service design principles at the planning and design stage, and works closely with professional catering suppliers to create a tailor-made interior solution for both the canteen itself and connected social areas. Delicious food plays the main role, but good service design strategies and accurate space planning is just as important.
