Good design takes you on a journay
International IT consulting company demonstrates a local design approach. Large international consultancies are talent factories, employing highly skilled consultants and knowledge workers, very often employees in their 20s, 30s and 40s. Despite this youthful demographic, many international consulting companies tend to design identical office interiors for every location, sometimes with the logo representing the only splash of colour in a beige or grey landscape. How does this approach affect employees? We asked ourselves this question when we took on a large project to redesign the new Norwegian main office for 300 employees at Lysaker in Oslo. Our client had a strong corporate brand, but were also open to adapting to a local Norwegian aesthetic, based on a colour palette inspired by nature and the very different landscapes to be found in Norway. Our concept created clearly differentiated zones that were marked by natural themes including Sea, Fjord, Forest, Mountains, Cabin and more. This collection of themes also inspired the choice of furniture, decor and details that gave personality and life to the work environment. Everything that a young dynamic consulting company needs to thrive and keep its employees happy.
