Oslo Cathedral School´s historic book collection has followed the school for over 300 years, and is the oldest surviving library in the country. With nearly 50,000 volumes, it is also the nation’s largest school library. FabLab Design have transformed the library to make it more accessible to visitors, and it has received a visual boost by mixing new and modern design elements with the historical wonders of the school´s amazing heritage. Using a newly constructed mezzanine level, it is now possible to reach the rare books more easily. Visitors can admire the school´s pre-1500 book collection, and manuscripts from the 1200s.
