Connect to an inspirational workspace under the treetops at OBOS. OBOS is one of the Nordic region's largest housing developers, mutually owned by its half a million members. With a mission to ensure that as many people as possible can afford to buy their own home, including new innovations aimed at first-time buyers such as partial ownership called Deleie, OBOS take sustainability, climate and environmental initiatives seriously within their property portfolio. When Fablab Design was commissioned to upgrade parts of the head office in Oslo, we wanted to bring these values to life in the interior concepts. We divided the area into zones: Obos city, Obos outdoors, Obos social and Obos urban. Fablab Design was happy to incorporate reconditioned furniture and equipment into our design and used paint and foiling techniques to transform boring white storage units, kitchen and plain walls. Refurbished items were combined with new furniture and specially designed tree installations to provide cover to some ugly structural pillars. Merging these elements creates both spaces for individual work and collaboration.
